The Cat

This cat became a member of our family in December 2009, when he was pressed into service as a Christmas Tree ornament.

He is described as an American Short Hair. The pet shop from which he came was Russell's Garden Center in Wayland, MA, but we are not sure of his place of birth. He is said to have been born out of hand-blown glass.

I keep writing "he", but it is notoriously difficult to be sure of the sex of a cat, and never more so than in the case of a hand-blown glass one.

The cat was a gift from my dear sister, a true musician and cat-lover, who lives outside Boston. We are most grateful to her.

If she can tell me more of the circumstances and place of this cat's coming into the world of the humans, I shall pass the information on to anyone interested.
