Çanakkale

Taken in the beautiful harbour town of Çanakkale .

Çanakkale is essentially, but not precisely, modern day Troy. It is some 25 kilometers north of the original site of ancient Troy.

We spent a lovely evening there, in part in a nice bar on the harbour side, looking out at the giant wooden horse on display in the center of the harbour square, the same item that was used in the filming of the 2004 (holy hell, that was 2004, ten flaming years ago already?!?) film Troy, with Brad Pitt and Eric Bana.

I waited a good five minutes for this fellow to finish unmooring and starting his tiny little fishing boat and head out into the maw of the harbour.

Pleasingly, this is straight from the camera, without any editing of any kind, even the minor levels tweaking most things usually get.
