Amnesty

We paid a visit to Canterbury Cathedral today en route for Dover. (£19 entry for 2 seniors.) Amid the majestic vaulting ceilings, peaceful cloisters, vibrant stained glass, powerful organ music and imposing tombs to dead soldiers fighting long forgotten battles across the empire centuries ago, it was this simple tribute to Amnesty International that spoke to me most strongly. My daughter requested that there should be no flowers at her funeral, but instead, donations to Amnesty, a charity she'd supported during her too-short life. We were able to send close on £1000.
