Batumi

Is an odd city. The beachfront feels like Australia to me, and makes me think of every description of SF boardwalks I've ever heard.

Move slightly into the city and it goes to bars and novel restaurants, strange statues, sculptures and artistic buildings.

Further in still and it's a quick switch to tight alleys and apartments. I'm not sure if this is how ALL seafront towns are, but it seems that way to me so far.

It's a pretty place though, and a great city to hang out in for a few days.
