Flowers in Newbury Mass.

This morning we headed north from our motel outside of Boston to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. It's a wonderful birding area at Plum Island along the Atlantic coast. Our specific purpose was to check out the venues for two upcoming gallery shows; we had hoped to also go birding, but the weather was rainy and totally dismal, and we headed directly home to Northampton--driving through steady rain most of the way. The rain let up part way along but it then poured all the way to the end.

I took this blip on the way out to the highway from the refuge--there are wonderful homes all the way; if I ever lack for blips I could go up there for a couple of weeks.

Kudos to whomever can identify these flowers.
