Peninsula Light

Channel marker, Mute Swans and an about-to-be troubled sailor at the mouth of the River Ness, by the Inverness Marina, this morning.

Detoured slightly on the cycle to work to take a couple of snaps here. Whilst doing so, the wee yacht came out of the marina, and turned into the Beauly Firth, most likely heading for the nearby sea-lock of the Caledonian Canal, at Clachnaharry. Unfortunately for the sailor of said yacht, he must have failed to check his charts, and as he turned early out of the river channel, he ran aground.

I didn't realise what had happened at first, and was confused by why he'd stopped, dropped the sail, and started rocking/shaking his boat about. The tide was going out, and if he didn't free-it up pronto, he'd be stuck for nigh-on twelve hours. I don't recall see him on my way home. Mind you, that was more than twelve hours later...
