Refuge

When I first saw this juvenile eagle, that had just fledged within the past four days, it was being pursued across Thurston Branch by a lone kingbird. It appeared to head for some tall pines on Thalia Island, so I walked back to the island and scanned the trees, but didn't see the bird. I supposed it had continued across the island. As I headed back, I noticed two crows hopping around in a pine tree. Looking closer, I was able to make out the eagle. I was able to photograph it until the crows made it too uncomfortable for the eagle to stick around.
