Common Spotted Orchid

The recent mix of sun and rain has done wonders for the local flora. Orchids virtually line the verges at the moment, along with Cowslips, Cow Parsley, Thistles, Tormetil,  and Oxeye's to name but a few in a riot of colour. This 'common' actually isn't that common round here & was a nice spot this morning whilst out with the pooch. Pushka is ever inquisitive - so when I stop to take pictures of these delicate little specimens I have to make extra sure she doesn't trample them as she comes over to investigate what I'm up to. When she was a puppy she liked nothing better than to bite the heads off of the flowers in the garden - fortunately she seems to have grown bored of that game now.
