A Peep Thru the Pinhole

A Walk in the Black Forest

(With acknowledgements to Horst Jankowski.) Liz and I today undertook an interesting hill walk from our accommodation in Simonswald. At the outset we got the route into the hills VERY wrong, and found ourselves climbing over electrified wires, scrabbling sideways along a steep hillside, and negotiating fallen trees, before we finally intercepted the track we'd been looking for all along. After that it was much easier, and one of our objectives was to find a little old chapel up on the hill (God alone knows how the builders managed to get their materials there) because there was a Geocache nearby. Oh, and the chapel itself was interesting.

Today's Blip is just one of many photos taken on our day out. One (not published) is of Liz sliding along on her bum to avoid slipping on a deep layer of fallen leaves whilst negotiating that level walk along the steep slope. Adventures! Anyway, once back at the gästhof we treated ourselves to a cool beer, which tasted like the nectar of the gods, plus a cheese butty. An interesting day.

I used a small point-an-shoot camera today so as to not have to worry about getting serious equipment trashed. Turned out to be a wise choice.
