This part of Shielhill Glen above Inverkip is impossible to reach without doing some undignified clambering through dense undergrowth and risking life and limb on steep, slippery slopes. it's worth it, though, to discover a series of charming waterfalls and deep circular pools worn in the sandstone stream bed. And only the dreaded midges there to see it.
