A lucky shot

Last night we had some neighbours from below the house round for an apero. It transpired to be both Father's Day and his birthday and so was a well-timed invitation for Bernard and hopefully his wife and daughter.
Bernard is a fount of knowledge on a wide variety of subjects but his passion is history and I am always chagrined to realise I know less about many periods of English history than he does.
I stayed out on the terrace after they had gone as the sun was setting and took some shots of the granite outcrop opposite the house when suddenly this raptor - probably a Short-toes Eagle - drifted across the view-finder. I think it gives the image a focus but it was a pity I didn't get it earlier.
