“At the moment we’re doing a thing about actions”
“Actions?”
“Yeah, how to act effectively in the world for the benefit of others. So I’m puzzling over that…I’ll read you the text.

A man goes to the Buddha and asks the following questions: ‘What is that smothers the world? What makes the world so hard to see? What would you say pollutes the world, and what threatens it most?'
The Buddha replies: ‘Ignorance smothers the world, carelessness and greed make it invisible, and hunger of desire pollute the world and the great source of fear is the pain of suffering"
So then he asks the Buddha, what do you do about this, how can you stop it?
'Any river can be stopped with the dam of mindfulness, I call it the flood stopper, and with wisdom you can close the flood plains.'

So I think what he’s saying is that we need to pay more attention, and look at things more clearly. Because, it’s only with clarity of vision, when we get our own stuff out of the way, that we’ll then be able to respond in a creative, positive way that benefits everyone."
