Queens Baton

Today we got to school AND work late so that we could watch the Queen's Baton be carried through our home town.

I remember the Torch coming through in 2012. The High Street was MOBBED. For the baton, however, it wasn't, which was a shame.

Nonetheless, the kids got very giddy, waved flags and did shrieking (as did I). The runners and the police did a good job of whipping up a bit of atmosphere.

As it got noisier, the little one was less enamoured.

I don't know the lady holding the baton. But she looks well happy, which is nice.

Only a few weeks to go! Lots of culture programme stuff to get giddy about too. I think I might be, grudgingly, excited!
