The Wombat Paddock

I call it this because this paddock has a large wombat hole, just to the right. It's more than a hole, rather a whole mansion with several entrances/exits. (I didn't think to blip the hole :-( ).

It makes a mess of the paddock and John tried filling it in with the tractor, but of course they just dig a new tunnel. You can't bury a (live) wombat.

We often take overseas tourists to see it in lieu of an actual wombat which can be a bit harder to spot.

However a few months ago we found one of the residents lying wombat style beside the road, legs in the air, quite dead. And last week another one. The trouble is there are a couple of weekenders for rent further along the road and the visitors don't seem to get driving slowly in wombat territory.

So I'm not sure what the future holds for this bit of real estate now. A bit sad really.
