His first swimming lesson.

On a brisk walk along Scarborough's Foreshore Road about
7am, it was no surprise to be overtaken by a pair of runners -
one a young woman and the other a Yorkshire terrier who
seemed to be fairly evenly matched. If the dog was an
accomplished runner, he seemed rather less keen on joining
his mistress for a cooling dip in the sea shortly afterwards.
The only solution was to carry him in. He raised no barking
objection to that or to the preliminary lesson he endured but
I was left with the impression by his exit speed that he had little
enthusiasm for this part of the early morning exercise routine !
