Professor Joseph Weizenbaum

Joseph Weizenbaum (84), professor emeritus of computer science at MIT, and creator of computer program ELIZA, delivered an open lecture today at Magdeburg University. The lecture was given in German and the title was "Die Verantwortung des Informatikers" (The responsibilities of computer scientists). Often definitions in English were also provided (good for me to grasp the topic).

Lecture hall was overcroweded with more than 600 people who were there to hear the wise words of Professor Weizenbaum. All the time I was mesmerized by his personality. He reminds of Albert Einstein. Mr Weizenbaum kindly allowed me to take his portrait before the start of lecture. I was also lucky enough to get an autogram from this genius.
