Medieval

First day in Tuscany and not raining as forecast, which was good. Less good was the fact that the vertigo feeling I’ve had on and off for the past few days was now full time. So while most of the others wandered into town, I stayed at the villa, taking it very easy, and trying not to fall over!

Lots of tea and a decent pasta lunch later, the feeling started to lessen so when some of the group came back to drop the kids off, then head back in, I jumped in as well. Off to see San Gimignano and the medieval festival.

Very cool little town, amazingly beautiful, and busy with the festival, with loads of activities. Falcon demonstrations, medieval tools to try, and then an absolutely fantastic parade with all he “soldiers” drummers, archers, horses, the works. Very amazing.

Being a Sunday, when everything closes at 1pm, we managed to buy food for some local stores (a dizzying array of pasta) and sauces then had a delicious local pasta and wine feast at home.

Great day after a slightly spinning start!
