Our war

Dropped into the Our War exhibition at the John Gray Centre.

In among the medals and memorabilia, there was one story that stood out. Jackie Reid, one of the youngest soldiers in the county to enlist, didn't even make it to war; en route to Galipoli he was injured in the Gretna rail disaster and lost an arm.

The picture of the one-armed boy in uniform was very poignant. He looked so young he could have been one of Matt's school mates.
