Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Pellucid

One of the largest of the hoverflies: Volucella pellucens the Pellucid Fly.

Unfortunately I didn't react quickly enough to get a photograph of the three young foxes I saw from the train on the way in this morning; just emerging from the bushes at trackside on the way out of Shipley. I'll be looking out in the same spot tomorrow.

In other bug news, the Meadow Browns are out on campus.

It seems we have something new on the Bradford wildlife scene every day.
