Ora pro nobis

Window, St. Mary's Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Portland.

The eagle is the symbol of St. John the Evangelist, writer of the Fourth Gospel and patron saint of authors and booksellers.

(Ora pro nobis is Latin for 'pray for us.' It's a response used in various forms of the Litany of the Saints. Click here for more than you ever wanted to know about this.)

Hence this blip constitutes a request to the patron saint of authors to pray for those who labor at their writing.
