Like an alien landscape after the burning

The Heather is burned every year to encourage new shoots to feed the grouse.
It seems barbaric, but in fact the Heather has adapted to natural fires that occur on the high moor due to summer thunderstorms, and responds with rapid new growth.
In a month or so the area will be bright green again!
