Colico

Today promised, and maintained the promise of being a hot and sunny day. It must be a week or so since we used the car, so we decided it was time to put the top down and head to the North end of the Lake.

By happy coincidence we arrived just in time for lunch, which we had at the restaurant shown in the photograph. There is a huge difference between the south and central areas of the lake which have many palatial villas and hotels. The North end is much more focused on water sports, and the mountains look much closer. Some of them still have snow on the peaks.

The harbour at Colico has a fine selection of expensive looking motor and sailing boats. There was a strong wind, and the temperature was about 31 degrees when I checked, so fine sailing weather. There were craft of all types out on the lake, sailing boats, kite surfs and wind surfs.

I would have shown yet another lake scene today, but instead chose this typical lakeside restaurant. After a walk around Colico we returned to Lenno, still with the car open, but then reality sets in and we adjourn to the supermarket before the return to the apartment.

Saturday is change over day for some of the rented apartments in the condominium. Our neighbours of the last week have returned home to Geneva, but gave us a bottle of Swiss wine before leaving.
