The 'Loch Shira'

A highlight in our walking year is our BBQ which each year is at a different venue. Today it was Millport, an island in the Firth of Clyde, and the day dawned as the day has dawned for some time now, beautifully sunny and warm.

We took the ferry from Largs over to the isle of Cumbrae, and walked from the ferry over the interior of the island, with a wee break at the Glaid Stone, the highest point on the island. Downhill all the way from there to our BBQ site on the shore just outside Millport.

Our BBQ team did it again; fab burgers, with onion and tomatoes. We each supplied our own drink, in most cases it was wine, and we sat around in the warm sunshine chatting and enjoying the day.

Back at the ferry I blipped the arrival of the boat. Then we crossed over back to Largs where we had an hour for a wander around the town before heading home.

Great day...... great weather...... great walk....... great company!!!! What more could one ask?
