So, barring a miracle, it's all over for Brazil 2014!

Let the blaming, scapegoating, hand wringing, and doom mongering begin.
To be honest we didn't play all that badly either against Italy or against Uruguay, just lacked that little slice of luck, that final cutting edge. On another day we might have won both games and then the hyperbole band wagon would be rolled out and everyone -in England- would be proclaiming England as the greatest team in the world!

Anyone in the know would understand that honour currently lies with Costa Rica.

This just isn't the England way. Everyone expects glorious failure where we can demonise somebody rather than admit that maybe, just maybe -whisper it- we just weren't good enough.

Bring on Russia 2016...
