Clyde bridges

This is a view that will be seen by hundreds of visitors attending the Commonwealth Games next month.
After attending an event near Glasgow I set off by train for another of my frequent visits to my parents. The view leaving Glasgow Central crossing the Clyde is on a bridge that in 1905 was the widest railway bridge across a river in Scotland. Beyond the road bridge is a suspension bridge built in 1853 and in the distance lies the Victoria Bridge which was wider than any others in Britain at the time in 1854. It replaced a 500 year old bridge which had become insufficient for the traffic.
The walk along the Clyde here is very interesting, whether going eastwards passing through to Glasgow Green, or west towards the more modern bridges with their very different shapes.
