Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Azure

An hour down by the river with the dragonflies and butterflies helped to set the day underway. This pair of Azure Damselflies were amongst many at the pond in Denso Marston nature reserve, and there were Banded Demoiselle like those I saw earlier in the week down by the river.

The Meadow Browns are now out in force, but the butterfly highlight of the day was a late-flying male Orange-tip.

Then it was into town for the World Curry Festival, followed by the mayhem of Horrible Histories Barmy Britain show at the Alhambra.

Finally, a Midsummer party where we stayed out in the late daylight under the midges finished us off.

From the wild to the cultured, so much going on in this city today.
