Boating on Windermere

What a wonderful day!

After breakfast we wandered down to Bowness where we bought walkers' tickets for three rides across Lake Windermere. The first took us to Ambleside, where we transferred onto a second boat to Wray Castle. We spent a happy couple of hours wandering around the castle, then took a break for lunch outside in the sunshine before walking 4 miles along the west side of the lake to Brockhole.

The third boat of the day carried us back from Brockhole to Bowness again. Here we bought ice creams and then headed off for some cooling drinks in Hole in't Wall pub.

Back at our bed and breakfast we smartened ourselves up for dinner, then travelled by taxi to the Punch Bowl Inn for a fantastic meal.

I took my blip on boat number 3. If you look really carefully, you'll see that it is a selfie of sorts. My friend N can also be seen in the reflection as he photographed me taking my shot.

Exercise today: lots of walking.
