Linlithgow Palace

Today K., and I headed to Linlithgow for a day of culture & visiting family.

We went to Linlithgow Palace which is still quite stunning in it's ruined state. The grounds were also lovely to wander around with views all around the loch and plenty spots available to sit and soak up the sun when it peeped out from behind the clouds.

Whatever part of the palace you are in, the fountain I the central courtyard is eye catching from all angles. I was amused to see two young girls across in another wing playing princesses in some of the great rooms and running off when their make believe play was interrupted by other visitors.

For me this shows that history is alive in the minds of young and old alike, that no matter the rooms were empty and in a ruined state - your imagination can fill in the gaps :)
