Out and About

Parasailing Poo Poo Point

Poo Poo Point is a great hike. One clambers up about 1150 feet in elevation through thick bushes (eating salmon berries along the way up), crossing springs, over the Gap Creek Bridge all the way to a clearing where hang gliders and paragliders are launching from a grassy plateau. People gather to watch the parasailers, it really is quite enthralling. My friend, Kim, even took a ride a few weeks ago.

In this photo, one can clearly see Lake Sammamish, and in the far left hand corner, are the high rises in Bellevue.

Around the bend, one gets an awesome view of Mount Rainier. All and all, a perfect hike and not too far from home.
