Warming up

Yesterday we went to watch Wigan Warriors play Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at their home venue, the Rapid Solicitors Stadium. I use the word Stadium loosely, it is one of the old-style grounds with very little seating, and mostly falling apart.

Same could be said of our team for much of the match, and the Home fans were jubilant to beat the team that were at the top of the table, and Double winners last year. I am not wishing to make excuses for them, but we do have 13 players out injured currently, and this was our 3rd game in 8 days! That said we made too many mistakes. Wakefield's attack for the most part wasn't scintillating, but they made the most of the massive amount of possession we turned over and the penalties we conceded to score their 36 points. We scored 28 and still lost, which says it all really! We'd been leading 18-6 at one point, and really should have built on that to go on and win. But credit to Wakefield for coming back and capitalising clinically on the mistakes we made.

Another factor in Wigan's defeat could've been our presence at the game! The season we managed to attend games more regularly we were almost relegated and we saw not one of last season's double-winning efforts live! In fact I think we have only managed to see them win one league game live and in the flesh!

My shot shows curly-locked Josh Charnley and someone else I can't identify from the back of his head apparently plotting against the opposition, but it's all part of the warm-up where they use each-other for balance when doing stretches!

Further updates on our Rat Tale! They are still thriving up in our roof and becoming braver for venturing down into the kitchen itself. The only thing in there available for them to eat is the poison we have put down for them, but they show no interest in that whatsoever. I believe they are going out for meals! Another Rat-Catcher is coming at 12 o'clock today...
