Late Agent to the Old Mine Company...

Jonathan Rawling, Late Agent to the Old Mine Company died 8 Dec 1836 Aged 53. That is relatively young, but maybe not when you are working in a mine.

Very little information on the web, but it turns Jonathan Rawling 1783-1836 was a Mine Agent in Cornwall and came up to the Old Mine on the Great Orme to do the same job. There was an insinuation that he might have had a son with the same name (Jonathan) but that was speculation on an Ancestry site.

What is interesting though is his wife, Jane Rawling 1791-1870. She seems to have been 12 years younger than him, but when she died in 1870 in her will she left £308 to a John Hughes (Estate Agent) and a John Roberts (Car Proprietor).

It is curious both these men had the same name John. I wonder who they were to her?
