Islands In The Stream

The River Alne runs through our village Great Alne. It divides at this point and one part goes through the now disused Great Alne Mill which has now been converted to bijou little riverside properties, before rejoining the main flow.
The other part goes more directly to the village and continues to Alcester where it joins the River Arrow.
There is a weir close to this point but the water is very still where I took this picture, and I have seen Kingfishers there but not for a few years. There are water lilies and sedges and it's all very tranquil, just before the hurly burly of the weir!
