Glimpsed through a doorway

at Eastbury Manor House. An Elizabethan merchant's house in Barking. An oasis of history nestled smack in the middle of a council estate. Very interesting it was too.

When I reviewed the pictures from today this one stood out because it put me in mind of a Vermeer painting.
