Orchid

Of all the plants in our yard this orchid is my favourite. Its orange is so bright, and the green so...verdant! I have had a busy day so ended up carrying the plant to the car-park over the road to catch the last rays of sun on it before evening sets in.

Last night was pretty dramatic. First of all, the glue-boards put down by the Rat Catcher caught a rodent (Small rat or large mouse, not sure which!) who, amid much squeaking, managed to liberate himself and make good his escape!

2AM saw another visit from the police to our neighbour, bashing in his door and trashing up his house! Good for them! I guess keeping half the street awake is just collateral damage! One day they may even arrest him!

By morning, most of the rodent boards had been chewed, flipped and poohed on, but not one had held a captive!

The Rat Catcher was summoned back, and he brought with him a stickier, bigger glue board and a few serious looking traps which we baited with jam and choccie biscuits. Now we are waiting for evening and Showtime!
