A Suffolk Eye

Lookin' good

We were not the only ones to have posh new headgear this month, Hercule was also treated to a fancy new bonnet.

OK, the bonnet was the same as ever, but the paint is brand spanking new.

Hercule's a good little car and labours valiantly with any load that can't be carried on a bicycle - sacks of potatoes, trays of catfood, the winter woodpile - but recently he has been looking a little jaded.

Now he reminds me of the rich attorney's elderly ugly daughter:

"You'll soon get used to her looks," said he,
"And a very nice girl you will find her!
She may very well pass for forty-three
In the dusk, with a light behind her!
"

(A base canard this. Our beautiful Hercule's not a day over 29)
