County of Essex 'Union Jack' Diesel Loco 47580

On our journey to Scotland today, we broke off at Settle specially to see the Fellsman steam engine pass through that iconic station on its way to Carlisle. We waited and waited, but it just didn’t happen. Instead, as the beleaguered steam engine 48151 was left behind at Hellifield, we were treated to heritage diesel County of Essex ‘Union Jack’ , diesel loco 47580, which flew through the station at top speed as it attempted to make up for lost time.
