Burnet moths

Our walk today was amongst over 70 varieties of wild flowers and many types of grasses. Larks sang as they rose from the path side and at the shore rafts of eider ducks floated on the incoming tide. So there was plenty of scope for photos but my attempts to blip the innumerable butterflies were very disappointing. The red spotted dark metallic green Burnet Moths resting on viper’s bugloss plants were far easier to blip. (see large)
