Mouse trap

This clematis grows within the gabion between my neighbours' path and mine.

We've had a 'problem' with mice in the two gardens (although not such a problem in our garden, probably due to the big, hairy dog that eats anything) and whenever the mice are back the clematis dies (I'm guessing because the mice eat it). As you can see, we currently have no mice...they're probably all living in the remains of the tree along the road (this is the latest scaremongering from the local rag anyway).
