Degree day in the Senate House and many people about in top hats. The chap with the kiosk in Market Street had displayed his wares on the spikes of the church railings and for those not invited to the ceremonies, you could buy a top hat here for a few pounds, then mingle with the crowds and maybe get a few glasses of free champagne !!!
