Dalhousie Castle

J and I were looking at wedding venues again. This time it was Dalhousie Castle and MacDonald Houstoun House Hotel.

As soon as we drove up the estate road to Dalhousie, J spotted the castle in the distance. She was like Wow... and I had to agree with her reaction. From the outside, it was perfect, the potential of photo portraits with the castle background was just extraordinary! There was this most amazing tree also, shame I didn't get chance to see it up close.

We we went in, it looked like it had potential. But the more we saw, the more let down we felt. It was quite small inside and the decor was very dull and it had a dingy feel. We spoke to a few people and flicked through some photo albums and it Dalhouse was really good for the lens.

Next we went to Houstoun House, we got out of the car and we weren't really wow-ed by the exterior. But as soon as we got in and was shown the big event room, there came the Wow!

We were just torn between how different the two places were. I wish we could have the exterior of the castle with the white and modern interior look of Houstoun House.
