Goodrich Castle

Today was another day off for us after I fed the lambs and Wilson fed the chickens. We set off toward the Forest of Dean, but it was raining quite a bit, so we went to Ross-on-Wye, instead, and found, according to the tourist info person, that there were no real indoor activities. "If weather keeps you indoors, you'll never do anything." She said last week people wanted out of the sun, and here we were asking about getting out of the rain. Yeah yeah yeah, we know all about weather in Bellingham.

Anyway, sure enough, it cleared up and we were happy to be out and about, so we headed toward the forest, but found the castle first. We spent a nice time there, having the place all to ourselves. We did eventually get to the Forest of Dean, but there didn't seem to be a there there. We drove south, then east, then back north, and finally back to Stroud, getting lost quite a few times.
