Where once was life........

It is sad to see so many abandoned crofts. Mankind is drifting from the rural to the urban around the globe. This is also reflected in Orkney with former isles folk attracted to an ever expanding Kirkwall.

There are many abandoned crofts on the outer isles and even on the Orkney Mainland. However there are still plenty of folk who can mind on who stayed where and where they are nowadays. Some of them are still making their way in Canada.
