Visiting the World

Lynn Canyon

We'd been told about Lynn Canyon shortly after going to Capilano. It is supposed to be more rustic, less touristy and free. So for Michael's last full day in Canada, we thought we'd go check it out.
After a bite to eat at the Steamworks pub. We hopped on the seabus over to North Vancouver, then caught another bus all the way to Lynn Canyon Park (all for 4bucks!).

It was a lovely place. They had a great visitor centre, with loads of interesting puzzles, games and facts about the Park, it's animals and all things environmental. And just outside was a nest with 2 baby woodpeckers calling mama for food.
The whole area was really beautiful- the Canyon was entirely forested and had a river running through. There was a suspension bridge (not as big as Capilano), to the east a stunning 30foot pool surrounded by rocks, and to the west were twin waterfalls. The weather was lovely and the walk managed to get the heart rate going nicely.
Back at the dock, we had a little look around the market area. It was nice and had a good range if shops and stalls. Michael also checked out the boats, obviously.

That night we watched Cool Hand Luke, one of Michael's favourite films, and chilled.
