A wet start to the day made for the abandonment of our planned trip to the Ardcamurchan peninsular. Late morning when it eased to a heavy missel, we walked from the cottage towards Eriska hotel, and the nature reserve, the weather improving as we went. A late lunch and bye now sunshine overhead Mrs A S and I set off the few miles to Glasdrum F.C. Site in hope of seeing some Butterflies. Upon reaching the site we found despite the relitive closeness the rain still held court there. We retraced our steps part way and called in to the Sea Life Centre, the best bit of which was the aquairium section. Semi tame otters and seal were on hand, but little else while all the feeders on the squirrel trail were "empty"! Got some loch side shots.
Returned to Benderloch and tried in vain to get to the standing stone and ironage fort discribed in the leaflets. No walk on the beach tonight as the rain set back in.
