Iron bars and irony

George's team were playing against the Honest Toun in their last game of the season this morning. Spotted this graffiti in the car park behind Musselburgh High Street; it didn't really look as grim as it does in black & white.

We used to live in the town, and as I was getting a coffee I found myself thinking things like "hey, this never used to be a Pay & Display car park" and then wondering whether that was actually the case. Maybe it always had been, and I'd just never paid and displayed.

The memory plays tricks in the most boring ways, it seems.

As for the game's result, it was quickly forgotten after a trip to Luca's followed by them heading on to their mate's birthday party nerf-battle.
