Parachute games as kids club

Today we were let loose at kids club, as Breidys and Gina are away in Medellin. We looked at the first half of the story of Noah today, up until the start of the rain. Next week we will look at the rest of the story.
We taught the kids some Colombian sign language for different animals and then played 'fruit salad', but this time everyone had an animal instead of a fruit, and we signed them rather than called them. It was really nice to link the two projects and the kids really enjoyed this game.
Afterwards we got the parachute out for the first time (Hurrah!!) and the kids' eyes just lit up! We had a lot of fun with the parachute, which definitely made it worth the effort of getting it out here in the first place.
We repeated the same session with the afternoon kids club, then shared empanadas afterwards. It was Roberto and Aurora's last evening here before they fly back to Bogotá tomorrow, so we headed to the seafront with them afterwards for a bit of souvenir shopping/sunset watching. It's been really nice to have them up here with us, and we're looking forwards to seeing them again when we're back in the Bog for a couple of days at the end.
