Mammy Water

Well this was an interesting word! Mammy water, meaning: ‘A spirit woman often taking the form of a mermaid, and believed in parts of Africa (esp. West Africa) to inhabit lakes and rivers’, (OED). A rather dull day photographically as I had important chores to complete, but I thought the reflection of a birthing centre in a puddle would work for mammy water on several levels, despite it not having anything to do with spirit women.
Day #177 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
