River Irvine

Not only are there strong Scottish connections in this part of Ontario, but specifically Ayrshire connections. The town of Elora was founded by an Ayrshireman, and the river that runs through it is named the River Irvine.

At this time of year, there is not much water flowing, but still an impressive sight cutting through the rocks and trees.

Yesterday was a busy day of Ice Hockey (my grandnephew play for a team of 9 year olds) followed by a Rib Feast. We had much too much to eat at it, but hey, that's what happens on holiday.

Today is an easy day, but a whole collection of us are heading for Niagara Falls tomorrow.
