lurking in the undergrowth

we want for a walk in Woodhall Dean today... and I saw and Adder! I was really excited as I've been hoping to spot one of these for ages... He was pretty shy though and slithered off as soon as I tried to get a better angle...

I also saw a big black mass of creepy caterpillars which will become Peacock butterflies... and also some pink an black moths having sex, what a fun day it was...
