George Wyllie: Through the Keyhole

Today was one of these days when I had an embarrassment of Blipness.
Not only did I meet and share actual air space with fellow Blippers at the official opening of a new George Wyllie exhibition tonight at The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock, I took tons of pictures.
Where to start the editing process?
As usual, it's the shot you don't expect which ends up being used.
The exhibition features key themes from George's career and is beautifully presented in a stunning space at the Beacon which boasts a wall of floor-to-ceiling picture windows looking out over the Firth of Clyde.
The very river which inspired George for most of his working life, man and boy.
The Sun Still Shines is a phrase which is repeated in George's two-man play, a Day Down a Goldmine (ADDAG)
There are many of his hand-made props on display. ADDAG is a surreal and sideways swipe at the iniquities of the world banking system.
The new exhibition is called Why is there a ? In Scul?ture and it runs until July 6th. If you are in Greenock I urge you to go because it is just braw.
Curator Lynne Mackenzie has put together a beautifully crude homage to the Whysman.
